National Police Support Fund Welcomes Retired Police Officer As Newest Board Member

Alexandria, VANational Police Support Fund, a nonprofit political organization committed to aligning the interests and needs of police officers with the public’s issues and concerns within the national political process, welcomed new board member Dan Niedhammer in November.

Dan Niedhammer is a retired police officer who spent his career with the Richmond Police Department in Richmond, Virginia. During his time as an officer, Mr. Niedhammer formed the Richmond Coalition of Police (RCOP) and was the Legistivate Director for the Virginia Coalition of Police and Deputy Sheriffs.

On joining the National Police Support Fund, Mr. Niedhammer said: “It is important for me to stay involved because I know the personal effects policing has on the men and women in law enforcement. I am motivated by my sheer will to serve not only the men and women in Blue but the community as well.”

National Police Support Fund is thrilled to have Mr. Niedhammer’s perspective and expertise on the advisory board, and believes good governance and transparency is the key to building a successful organization and successful movement. “Dan Niedhammer brings passion to our organization, along with years of wisdom and the perspective of a retired officer that understands the importance of community policing better than anyone,” Executive Director Simon Lewis commented.
