ARLINGTON, Virginia – The National Police Support Fund recognizes Randy Robertson on his election to the Georgia Senate. He defeated his opponent, Democrat Valerie Haskins, 63% to 37% for the right to represent Georgia’s 29th state senate district.
Robertson is a 30-and-a-half-year law enforcement veteran. Prior to his retirement from Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office in 2015, Robertson was a leader in the department in areas ranging from undercover narcotics investigations to serving as the Director of Homeland Security for Columbus, Georgia. He attended the Command College at Columbus State University, and the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Following Hurricane Katrina, Robertson served the citizens of Mississippi and assisted in bringing the C.E.R.T. program to Mississippi. He is active in the Fraternal Order of Police and currently serves as the President of the Georgia State Lodge.
