National Police Support Fund had the privilege of attending the 2018 Fall Conference for the National Trooper Coalition (NTC). This year the Fall Conference was held in Boston, MA and we were hosted by the State Police Association of Massachusetts.
The mission of the National Trooper Coalition is to “protect the rights, interests and welfare of our members and improve quality of life for all member state law enforcement associations.” The NTC brings together the state associations to provide a stronger voice for those that have sworn to protect our nation. NTC works to improve wages, benefits and working conditions and encourages troopers to provide quality service to their communities. For more information about NTC, visit their website.
The conference fell in part on September 11th, and the troopers ceremoniously observed the date with respect and honor. We all gave a moment of silence for those who had fallen during and after the events of 9/11, and it was an honor to be part of that heartfelt observance.
We met and spoke with troopers from all over the United States during the conference. We spoke with presidents of State Trooper associations from Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, New York, and more. We gained valuable insight on issues affecting Troopers within their own states and on upcoming elections. Given the importance of the upcoming midterms in November, this discourse was invaluable to us.
After attending the Fall 2018 NTC Conference, we are better prepared to address the needs of state troopers all over the country, and especially during this midterm election year. We understand the needs of state troopers and the issues they are facing on state and national levels.
National Police Support Fund looks forward to attending the next NTC Conference in the spring. We appreciate the troopers and the Coalition that brings them all together. NTC is working hard to empower and support state troopers all over the country, and we are honored to support them as well.
